Question 1

I haven’t given you very much information, how will you process my application?

Accepted Answer

The application you fill out before your payment is just your order with APVI.com. You will complete the official application for your process and gather all of the required documents after your order has been placed. Don’t worry, we will provide you with all the details you need for your expedited application process!

Question 2

What are the fees for processing my order?

Accepted Answer

Our order page shows a breakdown of every cost before you press “Process My Order”: the APVI service fee, the government fee and your shipping option. Passport applicants pay the U.S. Department of State fee separately from the APVI fee, by check or money order included with the documents. For more on U.S. Department of State passport fees, please view passport fees .

Question 3

How will you receive my documents?

Accepted Answer

Your documents are gathered together per the checklist provided after your order has been placed. Once you have gathered the required documents, you will upload them to your instructions page. An APVI specialist will review your documents and provide you with a prepaid overnight FedEx shipping label via email. You will place all the required documents into a FedEx shipping envelope and affix the provided label to the front. Drop your application packet to your nearest drop off location (please do not use a dropbox) or schedule a pick-up, and we will provide you with an update once your documents have been received.

Question 4

I have just placed an order with you, what next?

Accepted Answer

Thank you for placing an order with us! Please follow the instructions on your instructions page and begin uploading your documents. Once they are uploaded, an APVI specialist will review them and email you a prepaid FedEx shipping label. Our specialists are available 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, and we are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. If you place an order outside these hours, a specialist will review it on the next business day. Questions? Call (800) 766-0452.

Question 5

My U.S. passport expired more than 10 years ago. Can I still renew it?

Accepted Answer

Not as a renewal. A U.S. passport can be renewed only if it was issued within the last 15 years, when you were 16 or older. An adult passport is valid for 10 years, so one that expired more than 10 years ago was issued more than 15 years ago. You will need to apply in person with Form DS-11, the same way as a first-time applicant. On apvi.com, that is our New Passport service.

Question 6

What Can I Use to Prove My US Citizenship?

Accepted Answer

You must submit an original or certified copy of your US birth certificate or US naturalization certificate. For any applicant 16 years or older that was issued a child passport, your expired, undamaged passport may count as proof of citizenship, as well. The U.S. Department of State will return your proof of citizenship back upon completion of your passport. Please be advised that U.S. Department of State will not accept a printed copy of your proof of citizenship.
